Yes I agree a fine is needed but at the same time can cause grief for others. My daughters so called Mother0in-law received a DWI the 1st of 2008, was fined, couldn’t pay out of pocket so she just took it out of her son’s bank acc. without asking. The son is going to college and needed those $$ badly in support of college needs. What a shame. And the son has yet to pay any on childsupport which I take care of his child. We all surffer due to one messing up, therefore a stiff fine, counseling and suspension of ones license may just be a wake up call.

Within an offense such as DUI - there should be no easing up. Heavy fines, license suspension and consistent, progressive discipline for repeat offenders.
